True or False?

I was reading Psalm 27 and Psalm 31 today and it changed my life. I was so blessed by it. Anyways while reading psalm 31 I came across this gem:

Love the Lord, all his faithful people! The Lord preserves those who are true to him, but the proud he pays back in full. - Psalm 31:23

So what does it mean to be true to him? Let’s take a step backwards, what does it mean to be true to yourself? The word true is described as being in accordance with fact or reality. Being accurate or exact, loyal, faithful, and honest. Each attribute of the word true describes something that is built upon FACTS, not fiction. It means keeping it 💯 with yourself and others. If you can’t be honest with yourself, you definitely won’t be able to be honest with others. When you’re true to yourself you want to be honest with others. You want to express your wants and desires. But most importantly, you want to express how you feel and you have no problem doing it.

My generation does not want to talk about “how they feel.” We rather cut people off than express our feelings and emotions. Nobody tells people how they really feel. It’s a sign of weakness. It’s called being a “sap” or being “lovey dovey.” But at the same time, how can anyone know how you feel or what you like/ dislike if you can’t express that to them? Ohhhhhh I get it, you want someone to read your mind? 😂🤔 Nah son. It doesn’t work like that. Being true to yourself means not lying because you “felt like it” or because it was something small. Nah. You have to be real 100%. Also, being true to yourself helps you to create boundaries for yourself. You have to know your limits. Tell people NO when you feel it in your soul the first time. Don’t backslide and say yes later cause someone pressured you. It’s called being true to yourself. Go with your gut feeling always. Nine times out of ten that’s your spirit or God saying to you “No, don’t do that!” It’s all about being connected with who you are as a person and God. And once you are aware of this connection, it’ll be easier for you to be true to yourself and him. He will continue to keep yo and guide you as long as you are faithful to him.
